Main guy. You can't miss him. The pilot cook-wannabe. I'm not going to bother telling you about him since that's what the story is about. I guess you just need to know he's your typical confused shouen mecha pilot. Oh also Akito and Yurika were childhood friends back on Mars, and Akito's parents were murdered (and obviously he wants to find out all about it, of course).

The bubbly and cheerful tactical genious captain of the ship. Childhood friend of Akito and has a very weird crush/unending love for him. Hard to explain... Also she lacks common sense, sort of. Her father is a high admiral for the Earth military (who's equally wacked). She seems kinda ditzy but there's a depth to her character that's hard to fathom. Oh yeah, she's another "main" character, so to speak. and yes, to you who are impatent, She does get Akito in the end. It's almost obvious, but it seems weird, doesn't it? Oh, because of her Martian birth, she also can Bosom jump.

Her trip onboard Nadesico is her first real experience at living.... "honto, baka baka!"She's also the biological daughter to the king of Peaceland, a small, tourist-based, nation....so, she's also a princess.

Scientist, and slightly of a "twisted old maid." She appears for the first time as Nadesico reaches Mars. A secretive character at first, but ending up doing a lot of, um, explaning. Kinda the scientist/doctor type role. And her true identity is a big plot twist that doesn't really do much other than explain why is the ending the way it is and shock the audience. Guess she hass been explaning stuff all along. Oh yeah, she's Ai, the little girl with the orange in episode 1 (and 10 frames in the OP). When Akito Boson jumped to Earth from Mars in episode 1, Ai also jumped from the shelter to the ancient ruins of Mars but about 19 years earlier. I'll stop here...

Hot-shot, mysterious pilot. Has a brother died in the war. Unknowningly to all but his closest aids, he is the CHAIRMAN of Nergal. Wow. Mr. Trillionare does some 1-st hand cover up.

Chief cook of Nadesico. Is somewhat an inspiration for Akito. One of the more sane people onboard Nadesico. Fitting for a bartender type.

The old admiral. He's the fleet commander against the very first invasion of the Jovian attack, and after his failure he ended up onboard the Nadesico as the UN ambassador. After his noble sacrifice to save the Nadesico in episode 7, he reappears in episode 26 when they returned to Mars...

Nergal's fiancial accountant onboard. Multi-talented. A scheming individual with lots of foresight. He and the Houmei girls really make a good team. (heh)
